We are seeking a highly skilled Martian Environmental Engineer to join our team and help ensure our colonies in the Solar System maintain a healthy, sustainable environment. This role requires someone with experience in the technological and environmental aspects of living among the stars; you will be responsible for developing planet-friendly technologies and finding ways to ensure the habitats remain livable in extreme conditions. In addition to your technical skills and knowledge, you must possess a strong commitment to environmental and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans for sustainable habitats on and off-world
- Evaluate the potential for new solar systems for habitation, and assess any associated risks
- Conduct research into current and new technologies relating to habitation, resource extraction, and waste management
- Draft proposals to local and interplanetary governing bodies for the use of new technologies or projects
- Provide guidance in ethical and environmental decision-making
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in environmental engineering, planetary science or related field
- Experience in space-based engineering and habitat technologies
- Strong understanding of ethical and environmental principles
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of current Martian and extraterrestrial climates
